Viv’s extensive training and expertise in coaching and consultancy equips her to work at a deep psychological level, yet keep in line with operational objectives. Mixing honesty and compassion with intuition and an incisive ability to challenge conventional patterns of thinking and operating, Viv is able to forge strong, trusting relationships. This fosters fresh insight and real, significant, and sustainable breakthroughs in performance and behaviour in a dynamic yet empathetic way – sometimes in highly sensitive situations.
Her robust, evidence-based practice is informed by rigorous and continual self-development and regular professional supervision. Most recently, as part of her Master’s degree, Viv pioneered and researched a ground-breaking new energy coaching programme. This analyses and addresses client energy levels within the context of executive coaching, with a focus on how different states of energy can influence how clients feel, behave, relate to and impact on others.
Viv’s client list includes:
BNP Paribas Asset Management (both UK and Asia Pacific); The Bank of England; ING; Standard Bank; AnaCap; Polar Capital; 17Capital; MOL (Europe); VTB Capital; Fortis Investments; Alfred Berg; Hermes Fund Managers; Virgin Holidays; Morley Fund Management; Visa; B & Q; a leading international hotel chain; 1 Crown Office Row Chambers; a leading gaming technology company; the University of East London and BAR f1.
Viv has a successful track record in coaching clients on a wide variety of topics including:
Viv commenced her consultancy career (which later led her to specialise in executive coaching) by building a very successful business which helped large retail and transport organisations prepare for and deal with complex workplace situations that directly affected their bottom line. Clients included Virgin Trains, Woolworths and Majestic Wine. She still consults, developing mentoring programmes for City-based banks as one example.
Viv also supervises fellow executive coaches since qualifying with the Coaching Supervision Academy (CSA) in 2009, with supervision clients in the UK, USA and Mexico.
She has featured as a speaker at a number of major conferences, including those hosted by the British Retail Consortium and the Association of Counselling in the Workplace.
I have found Viv to be an excellent coach. She has a great ability to listen and challenge my thinking where needed, whilst always seeming to remain firmly interested in my success and wellbeing. I have a very busy role but I highly value the time I spend with Viv as more often than not she helps me find long lasting solutions whilst helping accelerate my personal development. For example Viv has helped me find win-win solutions that have helped develop my leadership style whilst reducing my overall workload. This has included teaching me some of the arts of coaching which has helped me increase the outputs from my teams. I have no hesitation in recommending Viv as a very effective executive coach.
(Finance and Business Support Director).
My coaching with Viv Chitty was invaluable in managing a challenging part of my career. The questions formulated during the coaching sessions were often not the ones I would have intuitively anticipated and so would have been very unlikely to emerge from any "self help" regime I may have attempted. Tentative conclusions and proposed courses of action arrived at during the coaching sessions were always revisited and re-examined, and the threads of our discussions cleverly interwoven to test their implications for both elements of my job and my retirement plans.
